Wow. Checked in with Voices.com this afternoon and their major website revisions seems to have some major bugs. Like all the download links for audition copy don't work and it gives you all the foreign language and opposite sex auditions to wade through. Lots of information got dumped from my profile.
It's dramatically faster, thank goodness, but it's a fast track to frustration right now.

I filed numerous bugs on the issues you mentioned. I hope they get fixed quickly. I like the site, but they let a few too many bugs through for launch. _________________ Jeff

Yeah, I was not feeling a lot of love for the changes.
Glad to hear it wasn't just me.
Definitely not ready for prime time. |

The demos on my profile all seem to belong to other people. Of the seven I have posted, I can play only two -- and both of those are not mine. In fact, they're women. They're pretty good, but they're not me. This is apparently happening to lots of people.
If I search for myself by name and play the demo that comes up, it is my Character demo -- but that's not the demo I specified as the default.
Also, some of the items on that long list of jobs it says are open are ones I am almost certain I have already submitted. What I did was submit all of those again and added the following to the message section: "Please forgive me if you are receiving this audition in duplicate. I believe I may have already submitted a demo, but the Voices.com website indicates I may not have, so I am re-submitting."
I'm glad Voices.com has decided to give us some new features like telling us how many people had submitted auditions to a praticular job and how many times our generic demos have been listened to, but so far this "new and improved" Voices.com looks like a major cluster frak. Say what you will about Voice123, they've never released an "upgrade" that was so not ready for prime time. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

lee, the question is: are you getting any jobs from others' demos? _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

I too have posted a number of issues, too numerous to list, including the inability to upload files for 2 jobs I have working, one which requires 11 files. Both open working jobs that say the jobs are completed, and the only option is to leave feedback, which is premature. Crazy. Demos have disappeared. Hoping its all fixed fast. _________________ Bobbin Beam

Folks, its a rare occasion when I defend P2P.
I get that the web is the store and if they say its open, it ought to be ready.
BUT.
Let those among you who have unveiled a new and fairly involved web site that has not experienced technical difficulties be the first to lob the inital grenade.
If there are STILL problems in a week, then toss me a few of those bad boys and I'll lob right along with you.
But having been in their shoes, I guess I have a different perspective that I wanted to share.

kinks, I can understand. However, these are base problems that beta testing would have figured out.

Point well taken Peter, but I agree more with Jeffery. I'm really surprised that it was unleashed with so many disfunctional functions. I love voices.com and I'm going to stand by it, but I'm surprised that people who have always done things so well could have faceplanted on this launch. I'll give them a week, certainly. I hope that it doesn't put off those looking for voice overs, that's my bigger concern.
It's good for us to whine about our complaints in so far as to see that many people are having the same issues. That's reassuring, and for example people can now see that they don't have to reload their demos thanks to my complaining about my experience. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

And is everyone enjoying the onslaught of spam audition notices we're getting this morning?
Don't bother asking them to stop, either. I got a rather curt reply from Laurynda saying that me emailing her about the problem was unproductive. Kind of ironic that they're telling me not to email when I got 70 messages from them in the past 20 minutes.... _________________ Jeff

Only 70? Count yourself lucky.
They must have everyone and their brother (including me, but not my brother) contacting them about this to get all persnickety. What a headache. I really would like to stop getting notices addressed to everyone...including everyone else's email in the "to" field.
Gotta go. In the time I typed this, there have been 9 more emails showing up.
Whoops...10
