I'm going to order a plate of cookies as a holiday gift to a group of people at a company. They're all content producers who has been involved in some way of getting me work. Do I name each person on the gift card or do I say "Happy Holidays to the content producers at XXX company?" Or would it be better to list each person by first and last name on the card so there's no confusion?

I'm afraid if I just say "Happy Holidays to the folks at XXX company", the cookies will be eaten by the wrong people.

I'd say if there are fewer than say, a half dozen people and you know them all, go ahead and name them. Otherwise, I think your first way would be best: "Happy Holidays to the content producers at XXX company".

Yeah, but what if there are 30 content producers there? I've got a list of 10 that I worked with specifically.

Though I suppose it couldn't hurt to introduce myself to the other 20 via holiday cookies... Smile

I'd name each person that you worked with, on the gift card. It shows that little extra bit of effort, gratitude and personalisation.

Of course they'll share with all the other producers, so in the end, everyone will know who you are!

Send each Producer a plate of cookies as opposed to a communal plate.

I'm with Philip on this one...In our corporate setting, I can't tell you how many times a communal plate is ambushed before it makes it to its destination.

Yup, Phillip's got it. You also need to send him a plate of cookies for the solid advise. Smile

I'll give you an amen as long as you wrap up a few of them and send them down this way!

A plate for each ain't gonna happen at $40 per plate, sorry. It's not as if each producer got me separate work. They were just all involved in a couple of smalll jobs.

I'm for the individdle deal, too.

I've had boxes of chocolates get misdirected and unacknowledged because the candy people didn't include the notes I wrote.

yeep.

yeah and if I was making the same money as you or Philip Banks, the individual deal would be optimal. But I'm not, so it isn't an option.

Naming folks on the card is indeed a good way to make sure they know whom it's for.

You can also make a dandy splash with something smaller for each person you've worked with.

I send out single chocolates at Valentine's day and folks love 'em.

It is the thought that counts— really, truly.

For 40 bucks you could buy a ton of Pillsbury cookie dough and bake up individual batches for everyone you want to gift. Paper plates are fine -- as long as they're loaded up with cookies.

You can save the fancy-schmancy platters for the clients who don't present you with this ambiguity dilemma.
