VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

COURVO

....it's usually not good.

We (KLAS-TV) just finished raising $30,000+ in 3 days of making appeals during our evening newscasts (3/day) for the county's foster children. We do it every year, under the heading of my weekly feature "Wednesday's Child".

But THIS is the write-up I get in the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Thank goodness for the kind souls who wrote their comments in reaction.

I dunno....(shrugs)

Snarking on fundraising for needy kids? The author needs to do a better job of picking his battles. The media is rife with actual examples of misplaced advocacy journalism; from what I can see, this isn't the one to go after.

God bless him (the newspaper columnist), no one else will. The guy needs to get a life and get into the Christmas spirit. What? Did someone take his bottle of whiskey away?

Dave, do not stop what you are doing on the behalf of the kids. This guy is one of those who wants to change the term "Merry Christmas" to Happy Holidays.

I cannot use the word I wish to describe this sorry excuse for an individual -- I'd be more than chastized by Mom (if her electricity is restored).

Why do some only claim "principle" when they wish to restrict, rather than expand, acting humanely?

Dave, don't even think about this column and encourage others to not even comment. He deserves the complete silence of the small, narrow, "principled" world he wishes to create around himself.
