Maybe a little bit of a silly question, but I'm sort of reorganizing what info I'm keeping as I try to move into working everything from Outlook with Business Contact Manager.
In the past, when I've been keeping info in Excel and Access, I kept track of what kind of my demo I sent out: email, CD, or just through my website. As I'm going through now, I'm not seeing too much value in keeping track of this anymore. If I stop keeping track, Murphy will come along and make me wish I had kept doing it.
Any thoughts? _________________ We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I usually make a note of what I sent and when.

That's what I had been doing, too. I was planning on keeping the "when" part anyway.
As I was thinking about it more...and see that YOU do it, too...I'm leaning towards keeping it. _________________ We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I also keep track of what and when. If I run out of CD's, I'll look at the numbers, and decide if, and how many to make up. |

If you're making an entry for the "when", you might as well mention the "what". I just put that in my Notes section of my client database as a "Sent John Jones demo CD on 1/2/08". Unless limited by space or designated fields, I'm a firm believer in more info being better than less info (within reason). |

If you're keeping a "Who, when and what" also keep a record of why. Voice Over people send demos because they were told that's the way to get work and about as much time and preparation goes into the process as went into reading this sentence. |

But plenty of preparation went into writing that sentence.
....which was pre-ignored for its Britishness. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Business Contact Manager has been terribly buggy for me since I installed it - and have gotten very behind on my usual "hello's" - so time will be spent over the holidays trying to get it working - or try something else. _________________ Playing for a living...
