1932 - 2008
Given her visibility as Nurse Chapel (on the original Star Trek series) and Lwaxana Troi (Star Trek: The Next Generation) It's likely that most people --- even those in Hollywood and the VO industry --- didn't necessarily consider Majel to be a voice actor. However, for decades, she also provided the voice for one of the most iconic characters in film and TV history: the starship Enterprise itself. For that reason, her contribution not only to the Trek franchise but to the whole of the entertainment world should be held in high esteem. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. Yeah, she was great. Lwaxana was crazy obnoxious, but in that "Ugh, I know she's insane, but she's family..." kinda way that you loved at the same time as she made you cringe. She really breathed life into that character. And of course as the voice of the ship...
Sad indeed. _________________ Lou Zucaro

I'm really glad that J.J. Abrams cast her one more time as the computer voice of the Enterprise in the forthcoming Star Trek movie. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Loved her growing up as a major Trekkie. She's also the inspiration for my MOH reads - really.....so thank you Mrs. Roddenberry.
And thanks Dave for sharing the sad news of her passing. You're right CC, she was an icon. _________________ Moe Egan

Awwww! I didn't see that until visiting here. So sad. I also was a major Trekker. I saw her a couple of times at conventions. She always had great stories. She will be missed. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.
