It's so easy to get caught up in our own little worlds and not ask about others. Since I'm new, I want to know more about you. Tell me about your hobbies, your families, your quirks and even post some pics so that I can get to know you a little better. Care to share? |

Hey Cindy!
If you go to the "Entre Nous" section there's a whole thread called " Post a Recent Pic of Yourself!"...that'll give you an idea of who some of us are...and what we look like....those of us that dare!
And there's a VO-BB photo album that I thought was stickied...but can't seem to find it!

Hey, we all learn as we go.
You actually have to post the image on your website or flickr or somewhere else
THEN
You copy & paste that link in your post
THEN you Highlight the link with your cursor
THEN you click the "IMG" (for image) button at the top of your posting window and that'll put the code in for the board to recognize your link as an image
Hit "Preview" below your posting window to make sure you see the limage and not the link,
THEN hit "Submit!".
That's it! _________________ Liz de Nesnera O.A.V. ~ Livin' The VO Dream!

Hello Cindy,
I'm hoping for about the same as Philip. I'm Bob. Married to Cinda, it will be 20 years in May. We have 4 children. Our oldest, Karen is out on her own now, though still lives near us in Charlotte, NC. Then 3 boys. Eric is just graduated from high school and is working for me in my voiceover business. You'll find photos of him and me here and there in the archives. (Eric is also a member of the VO-BB, though he doesn't post quite as often as I do.) David is in Middle School and Brian is just finishing up Elementary School.
I have a day job, as senior producer for the radio department at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. And as noted above, I do the odd voiceover job now and then. I also blog about voiceover. That's the site linked through the WWW button below. _________________ Be well,

I did my first paid Voice Over job on 28th February 1990 which resulted from a demo mail shot to all commercial radio stations in the UK. A friend of mine who was about to start work for a commercial station told me about how commercials were made so I hired a studio and made a voice demo. the result was a part-time income from the odd VO job here and there.
In 1992 my part of the bank was sold and this left me with a decision to make; wait and see if the new owners would keep me, move to another bank or try something else. I tried to do something else, Voice Over work. I'll give it another year and see how things go.
Last year I did around 900 Voice Over sessions. Needless to say within some of those session there would've been more than one job so can't accurately say how many jobs I did in 2008. |

Thank you Bob for that update! You were so gracious to say hello when I first chimed in.
4 children and 20 years of marriage is quite an accomplishment! Congratulations. We have two boys, Scott is almost 13 (7th grade) and Sam is 10 (4th grade). I've been with my husband for 24 years but married for 19.
Thanks again! |

Hey there Cindy,
I'm hoping to get about half what Philip gets. (from the original post, not that 900 number. Wow!)
I'm also Bob. I'm also in Charlotte, NC. Married to LaVonne for almost 7 years. My second, her first. No kids, just pets and stuffed animals.
I also have a day job. I work on campus at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as an IT administrator. While here I am also working on my undergraduate degree in engineering after getting credit for my associates degree from 1981.
I'm also working one-on-one with a VO coach to improve my skills. A majority of my work lately has been audio books and presentations, so looking to expand that a bit.
In my free time I... wait... I don't have any free time. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.
