Back when we were in college our marching band got to be in the Orange Bowl parade. They booked us into one of those older hotels on Miami Beach called the Deauville. I think there was one other band there, too. Well, on New Year's Eve, a number of bandits (band members) had a little too much to drink and decided to have elevator races. At one point in the lobby one of the elevator doors opened and out fell a bed mattress... much to the dismay of the hotel personnel.
