This place is time-consuming enough!
I also like Linked In.

I have "profiles" on Twitter, MySpace, VOUniverse and heaven knows what else that I never pay any attention to.

I read Reddit, FARK and some web comix.

I also set the timer whenever I sit down at the computer now. 30 minutes— and then I have to get up and exercise. Couple times a day, I get a f*&k-off half-hour, otherwise it's work in half-hour increments unless I'm in a recording session.

Do yourself a favor and get a good RSS reader. I personally use Google Reader. This allows you to subscribe to blogs and other sites. When something new is added, it gets pushed to you. No longer do you need to take the time to go and check all of these sites, the new content is delivered to your reader.

I dunno how you keep up with everyone else's blogs, Bob.

Kim,

I'm quite sure I don't keep up with everyone's, but thank you for the compliment. And I too use Google Reader.

I used to waste a lot of time every day on Usenet newsgroups, but since Comcast dropped Usenet, I've been free to waste that time elsewhere. As the "owner" of two LinkedIn groups, I do check in there a few times a day. And just a quick check of Plaxo is enough to keep me up to speed with the prolific bloggers, including Bob Souer and Dave Courvoisier.

And I never thought Facebook was going to be anything but a silly diversion for high school kids, but it has proven to be quite useful to help me track down the "kids" I went to high school with more than 40 years ago. I have around 2 dozen classmates as Facebook friends and it has been more useful than Classmates.com in helping me track down others.

I've given up on diliberately networking on Facebook because it's just too gosh-darned casual. I've made a pact with myself to just add VO folks I've either met or have some sort of connection with and everyone else gets added on VOUniverse.

Like you, I've found a ton of friends from previous lives and have even reunited my mom with an old friend of hers through a lost connection of mine. I've also discussed with Paddyo how the circles of friends overlap in more ways than one. Much better than Classmates (for now... until they catch on to what we're doing and start charging for it).

I'm probably most active on Facebook. I have a MySpace page that I keep up simply because of the steady stream of "DJ drops" requests that come my way...though I do have days where I feel that if I say "you're in the mix with..." one more time, I might hurl. But I find Facebook lets me keep up with what people are voicing. There aren't a lot of places for people to crow about the cool things they're doing, and that's a darn shame!

this parallels my "Please listen carefully as our menu options have changed"

Love my google reader but I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone and had to realize I just don't have that time. If I did then I'd be doing VO full time instead of part time (and the reason I'm part time is because of the wee ones that I like to hang out with before they grow up to be 5 and realize I'm horrid and want to run away). And if I did VO full time I certainly wouldn't be spending as much time trying to catch up with everyone's blogs because I'd be so busy talking and, when I wasn't talking, I'd be rolling in the cash in my money room *cough cough*.
