"Add one and three-fourths cups of flour"

The 's' on cups just didn't want to come out.

The other one was "as I share a morning hug"

Getting both g's out was really hard!

I need ice cream.

Arrgh. That's nasty, Kara.

I might have begged them to write it as "Add one cup, then three-fourths of a cup of flour". Wink

I feel your pain. I just wrapped up eight pages of stuff like this:

"Deconstruction of the remaining complex of ribosomal subunits, mRNA, and uncharged tRNA then takes place to recycle the ribosome and tRNA. First, ribosome recycling factor (RRF) binds to the empty A site.
EF-G–GTP now binds to the ribosome, and GTP hydrolysis causes ribosome translocation. Translocation move the uncharged tRNA to the E site, RRF to the P site, and EF-G–GDP to the A site.
RRF now releases the uncharged tRNA, and EF-G releases RRF, causing the two ribosomal subunits to dissociate from the mRNA. The dissociated ribosomal subunits are now able to initiate translation on another message."

I could use a tub of ice cream.

Mondays through Fridays - that IS difficult to say! Probably because it is just WRONG! I would have just left off the "s" - they probably would not have noticed the difference.

Seriously - if that was the case, then I would have simply sent them a quick email explaining what I was going to do. I think there are times when we really need to help the client be the best they can be.

I had a project yesterday for Microsoft that had undergone a very quick script reduction between the time the original script arrived and the "final" script. The POV had been changed from third person to first - and a couple of sentences retained the original POV. Part of my job (I think anyway) was to point out this discrepancy and let them make the decision.

Most of my MOH and voice mail clients expect that I will help with the script. It is the kind of thing that you can do without actually changing anything on the page. Your brain just corrects it automatically.

If it were my direct client I totally agree.

But in this case the script came from an MOH company whose roster I'm on, and they are the ones that are the final script arbitors...I probably should have called them, but by the time I got to recording the script it was "after hours" and they needed the audio by first thing in the morning....(I didn't get the script till late in the day & I had a meeting so couldn't record till late).

But yes, I agree that it wasn't "quite" right ! Wink

Yes, Lee. Cool how you can speak a "foreign language" and make it sound like you know what you're actually talking about. I've had a lot of those, and they're extra challenging, but like Kara sez, it's these simple little phrases or words that sometimes just don't want to come out that is maddening. Too many to count.
