Sony announced today the release of their Sony ACID Xpress 7 application free to anyone who registers for the (free) ACIDplanet site.
Most people think of ACID as being only for music production, but it's actually a decent audio editor. (It handles audio more the way Vegas does than Sound Forge.)
ACID Xpress 7 will do 10 tracks of audio and even comes with unlimited MP3 encodes, something I don't think you get built-in with any other free audio software. _________________ Be well,

WOW!
Thanks Bob!
I use both SoundForge 8 & Vegas 5, so this would be a great addition to my toolkit!

Hi All,
I use Acid in conjunction with SoundForge. Although SF9 allows you to record more than one track at a time, it's not too helpful when it comes time to mix & master anything. Without Acid or CD Architect (bundled with SoundForge) it's nearly impossible to mix in fx or music without gettng severely frustrated. There are days I want to ditch the whole maryann and jump to ProTools (if it wasn't for the expense!). |

You don't have to go the ProTools route: there's AA, Cubase (LE can even get things done), and Reaper (cheap multitracking). _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
