Has anyone heard of www.voiceover-casting.com or someone named Fernando Pax? This person sent me an 'invitation' to join his 'website'. The thing is he contacted me through voices.com, so I'm suspicious.

Has anyone else received similar e-mails through voices.com?
Any thoughts?

Take care,
Mary

Mary,

I got the same email. Forwarded it to the Voices.com support team because it seemed to me they wouldn't be very happy about someone raiding their customer base.

Got it also. Looked at who is on there and recognized a couple of names. A lot of people I don't recognize.

My first thought was "Oh crap. Another one of these 'networking sites.'"

I got it too. I also forwarded the e-mail to Laurynda, like Bob did - so that MUST have been the right thing to do, eh? Smile

I've received it THREE times now via voices.com this week, and also sent it to support b/c I feel like it's spamming.

I also received this -- and deleted it immediately. It smelled funny to me.

I've had two *former* members of a group I host attempt to use my membership in the same way for some other networking site. It got them banned rather quickly.

I deleted it straightaway. I think it's spamming. Gasp

Haha, I'm in the same boat as you, Liz. It was literally the last thing I did before I went to bed and just clicked through, setting up a profile. I didn't even put any demos up, just decided I'd do it later.

Can't hurt to have demos up on another site online, but what they did through voices.com is definitely shady!!

I've received it twice, as of today and put my shingle up there. Doesn't cost anything so, why not?
Definitely strange and yet intriguing how they pushed the messages through the Voices.com site.

I've gotten four different messages via Voices.com -- from three different senders. I'm still not sure what purpose this new site serves that isn't already being served elsewhere. The name "voiceover-casting.com" seems a misnomer because there does not appear any casting element to it. It looks like it wants to be another Voiceover Universe but, last time I checked, we already had one of those.

Well didn't you just say you got four different messages from three different senders? Obviously he's trying to be the Voiceover Multiverse, and I don't think there's one of those, er, some of those, yet.

Lee,

According to the reply I received from Voices.com, this person has been signing up with them repeatedly using different email addresses each time so that the spamming can continue. They shut down the accounts each time they learn about them. I promised to continue to forward messages if I get more. So far I haven't.
