It's been a year since the last freshening of the visuals. Stayed with a minimal look for fast rendering (major client happy point) on a new WordPress theme.

Comments welcome.

I'm one who will easily tell you that websites full of graphics and flash and bang and boom are a giant waste of time and can actually distract from a voice talent or company's main goal, but I think you've gone totally the other way. It's so minimalist as to be dreadfully boring. It looks 20 years old which is ancient in Internet years. The type is too small and it's hard to find the main point of your efforts in a short amount of time, which is what most viewers will give you if there's not much to hold them.

Also, it looks like you have 25 different businesses under one roof and you guys are a bit scattered about what you do and how you do it. Consider narrowing it down to 3 to 5 main things you do and then under those categories get a bit more specific. Maybe:

Full service Recording Studio
Creative Production Services
Voice Talent Services

I'd go look at a lot more websites of businesses like yours and study what they've done right and absorb some of those ideas and try again.

You don't have to wow your viewers with your design expertise, but it's a good idea to impress them with your forward business sense.

My first thoughts... OK, where do I start?

I'm a bit confused at the subject matter. The front page should say it all... in a nut shell. Way too many choices?... Too many directions to go. I guess I like simple directions that are right there... easy to find. Maybe some nice grafics and some audio links. All that writing and stuff can be on another page.

Hi,

I don't think there's anything wrong with minimal, even at the level you've got it at here, but I do think that overall it's a bit cold, color-wise.

I think being a creative company, there should be something right when you get there that says "Hey, look how creative we are!"

This could be as simple as spiffing up the header graphic to be more visually interesting, etc.

And while I think it's fine to use WordPress as a CMS for a business website, I certainly think there are more engaging templates, and I would absolutely remove references to the fact that you're using a WordPress template (the links at the bottom, and the Quartermaster stuff, in particular the Log In and wordpress.org links)

Just my thoughts Smile

That's the base template as it comes from the designer. I do a fair amount of recoding before it's done. Mostly I was after opinions on direction, since I am not a "visual" creative. (I have print/TV guys for that.) Thanks for throwing your ideas in the pot, Lou. I appreciate them.

My first thought: is this a blog? The design definitely needs some sweetening and love to make it real. The bones are there, though!
