Hi friends,

Even though I have not properly introduced myself, I feel like I know many of you just from reading your posts over the past year. I figured I'd finally put my manners to use and officially introduce myself.

(why do I feel like Herb Alpert & TJB music should be accompanying this intorduction?)

I have been student of acting since my college days, and have been lurking on this board since last Feb. I am just starting in the VO world and I have much to learn. Currently live in the Phoenix area, and I am $aving for training and eventually a demo, but for now I hone my acting skillz in church dramas, and VO's for internal work videos.

I have been going through the archives post by post absorbing as much of this great knowledge as possible, and you are right, the archives are a goldmine! Thanks to all of you for your wonderful information.

Anyway, I know I am supposed to bring coffee, doughnuts chocolate, watercress, furalex(not sure what that is), bunny slippers and llamas. Did I forget anything? VOBB dues are due on the 15, and dont feed Todd or get him wet, but feed all of the other zoo animals.

btw feel free to thread jack this post as you see fit.

lastly, a special thanks to Bob S. for already welcoming me on another post.

Welcome to the gang. You're on the right path. Get a firm foundation of skills first, so you know what you're doing when you get in the booth.

Good luck. The guys here are so helpful and friendly, so feel free to ask for help whenever you get stuck and need support or encouragement.

cheers... Smile

Tony,

Nice to see your latest post. I'm glad you feel welcome. As for the furalex, that was (if I recall correctly) Greg's invention. No, not that Greg, the other one. Laugh He'll have to explain it to you.

Welcome Tony! You clearly know the scene well! Smile

If I'm right, I believe furalex started after a few of us posted pictures of our cats in our portable/permanent recording booths. The discussion of good sound dampening ensued- and 'furalex' was thrown out there. I'll have to search the archives to see if I'm right...the memory fades a bit as the years fly by. Wink

Welcome. You've taken such great notes that I think we should nominate you as the new secretary.

I just found out that a new friend's birthday is today and she'll be coming by later so I'll be making cupcakes. Perhaps I'll make enough to bring to the meeting later. If so, I'll post pictures. Mmmmmm. I'm so glad to have an excuse to make cake.

Who's Ken?

Welcome out of the woodwork and into the world of blathering, Tony.

With a name like yours, you could move to Florida and open a car dealership:

Tony Neptune's Saturn/Mercury of Jupiter.
