Got this list of names in a bit of copy the other day:
Isonoe
Megaclite
Praxidike
Iocaste
Taygete
Chaldene
Themisto
Pasiphae
Elara
Sinope
Metis
Adrastea
Carme
Ananke
Erinome
Callirrhoe
Callisto
Amalthea
Now, some of them I remember from plays we did in college, and from ever farther back when the Good Benedictine Fathers at my school taught us some ancient Greek, etc., but some were a complete unknown. Through some web sites and my old Greek plays textbooks, I was able to piece them together --but it took me the better part of an hour to get to where I could say "Callirrhoe is a member of the Pasiphae group..." without sounding like I'd been hitting the Metaxa...

Somebody's going to say it. I might as well get it over with.
It's all Greek to me. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

I just voiced the role of God in an animation for a Greek production company, and it turns out, even there, God speaks English. Hmm.

I'm not God, but I've played him in a Greek cartoon. _________________ VO-BB Member #31 Enlisted June, 2005

CC,
For a minute I thought you had a list of all of my cousins I met when I went to northern Greece. I couldn't keep them all straight. |

Chrissy -- that's great... last time I was in Greece, I had a field day with some of the names on the street signs. I'm used to seeing greek letters in equations. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |
