Jeff,
I've had good experience using Format Factory. _________________ Be well,

I'm doing something simpler and it works when I need to lift the audio from the video with Adobe audition (which does not recognise flv)
I do rename and change the extension from flv to avi
And by magic, it works!
I'm not sure if that's what you need, but it's pretty fast if you'd rather have an avi file! _________________ www.clairedodin.com |

Sadly, this site wasn't working right this morning. I gave it a 7 Meg flv and after over 2 hours of conversion time it hadn't given me any results. I've written to them and hope to hear back. I've got a pre-Intel Mac and there doesn't appear to be any simple way of converting for me.

Bruce,
If you use Firefox as your browser, even only some of the time, try VideoDownloadHelper. I believe there's a conversion option as well as the ability to capture and download video and audio streams. The URL is ...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006
I hope that helps a bit. _________________ Be well,

I've tried it. It downloads the flv files just fine but won't convert them on my pre-Intel Mac. Something to do with FFMP or some such acronym.

I use that Firefox downloader and it works great. Sometimes you may have to edit a logo from the free version out which is small and in the top left hand screen area that is easily edited. |
