...is the forum acting particularly "pokey" for anyone else today or is it just me?

Actually, I had noticed it as well.

And of course, now that I finally decide to mention it, it seems to be zipping along much better. I give up.

My whole internet has been insanely slow for the past two weeks.

I gave up on trying the phone/cable package. They missed a sales call set for yesterday, and the guy called today saying he didn't get notice of the appointment until today.

I told him if that's the way they communicate for something as elementary as a sales call, I don't want them handling my telephone service, thank you and good bye.

I used to think that made a difference. Now, I wonder if it does anymore.

This site's been slow for me for a few days, but also the whole Internet tubes thing. I thought it was someone moochin' off of my service, but I'm all Mac, including the Airport wireless thingy with a fabulous password, so no one can ever use my stuff, right??

Anyway, speaking of slow Internet, work's been crazy for two days, quiet for two days, etc., so I've been cruising V123. It's just as slow as it's always been between pages, maybe worse. So lo and behold they want my opinion, so I wrote:

Actually, the number one thing you could do to improve service is to improve your server’s speed. Clicking to a new page takes forever as each new page takes 10, 20 and sometimes even 30 seconds to load, and when you’re trying to quickly review 10 audition requests it can be very frustrating.

Voices.com doesn’t have that problem and I believe they’re a much smaller outfit than you.

I would be lying, if I disagreed with you.

It has been slow lately due to some technical issues regarding the matching process taking too long.

We have been working on this diligently the past month. I appreciate any patience. As I work on the site all day, I understand how much it can be a hassle to wait that long.

In case this message does not fully answer your question, or ....blah, blah blah

Steven L...

Slow lately??? I don't ever remember them being fast. At least they're copping to it.

They took part of the internet down today. They're cleaning it.

The bad thing is....it's being cleaned by the same guy who cleaned out the insides of some electronics tubes by carefully removing the glass.

This is the guy...it was posted on craigslist.

"Hi i have 8 7591 vacuum tubes that were new old stock, i tested these in a scott amplifier and worked well. I carefully removed the glass on each tube to clean both sides as all the tops had silver inside blocking view of tubes light now the tubes have no glass but may still work. asking 50.00 each."

Man, the interweb has been too slow here as well for several days now. Hubby and I were blaming each other (great argument to have! Keeps thing fun,). I can't wait to tell him it wasn't me or him, just the cleaning people. We've never had them here but I know I won't be hiring them any time soon. I do hope they use those lovely Lysol wipes.
