So, in the USA you can spend 5 days and nights in a Hotel with over 9000 hours of training on subjects like "How to buy my book of Voice Talent Skills", guest speakers and mingle with 85 pros and 4.2million wannabees all for a little over $2,500.
In the UK we think small. A couple of hundred or so people producers and voices all meet together at a cost of around £300 and this is what we do.

8pm Wine and Dine Location: Kenilworth Suite
As a digestif to follow our Gala Dinner everyone will be getting…a plate of chips. It’s Race Night and the stakes will be high as 14 tables vie for gambling supremacy over 6 televised horse races. Alcohol will be the ultimate and inevitable prize.

I like the idea of lounging in the pool the morning after. I have procured an appropriate bathing costume specifically for this purpose. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Rats. I can't go. I've got some scheduling conflicts that would force me to make it a two day trip and I want to spend at least a week. It is one of my home countries after all and I've never been. I'd feel like Chevy Chase on Vacation:

Something about 28 hours in planes and airports and only 40 some hours on the ground that made it less appealing too.
