What a score!



A station I used to work at is doing some renovation and the engineer in charge of the project has agreed to let me take all of the accoustic foam from one of their announce booths.....free of charge!



It doesn't look the same as the foam we're probably all used to...it's not the grey stuff with slots or pyramids. I'm not sure how large each sheet of it is because the room is broken down into fairly large sections and all of it is covered with some type of fabric (the walls are completely smooth...what's the difference?) The room has to be somewhere around 7' x 12' and it's covered wall to wall & the entire ceiling as well. And as an additional bonus, they're going to let me take the studio door as well...this is a nice steel, insulated door with a small window on it.



I'm almost giddy!



Any idea as to what the difference is between this smooth, fabric covered foam as opposed to the taditional stuff? This foam isn't that old...the studio where it's coming from has only been there for 7-8 years (and this room was never used except for storage).

Never mind....apparently, it's just a high end version....the fabric makes it prettier to look at at.
