Hey all,

If anyone has a moment like right now I'd appreciate some help. I'm trying to record an audition and for some reason my voice isn't showing up as recorded. I use soundforge and in fact I recorded an audition yesterday with no problems. But now when I click the record button and stop all I see are little dots on th line and no waves. I've been over all I can think of. I've restarted my computer three times, unplugged and re-plugged everything. Everything pretty much checks out but the microphone is still not picking up my voice.

Any ideas?

Please get to me ASAP.

Take care!
Mary

It could be that the volume control in Windows has decided to mute the line ine in/mic volume fader.

Click start > All Programmes> Accessories>Entertainment>Volume control>Options>Properties select record and there may be an option to see if anything needs to be selected. Just a thought.

I followed your advice but unfortunately there's no change.

Thanks for your time though Phillip.
I do appreciate it!

Not really a "post and respond" thing. Ideally you need someone there with you or a person on the end of the phone to talk you through a few ideas.

Mary,

You are welcome.

Bob, Greg - ahhh jeez. Embarrassed

This is what our board is for, helping our cyber-family. Credit goes to Banksey who gave the initial suggestions (which were my original thought too).
