I was in NC over the weekend attending Animazement, an anime convention. One of the panels we did was called Anime Radio. We took old Flash Gordon scripts and were assigned parts. We could do any voice, any way we wanted. There were 4 pro voice actors, and the rest of the parts were filled by audience members we chose. The people we picked from the audience were good, I mean really good! One of the attendees posted a very short clip (about 1:30) of the panel, which actually lasted about an hour.

I'm the one in the long skirt (I played Flash's girlfriend Dale), Christina Vee plays Ming (She's the one in a blue dress) and believe it or not the High Priest and others were audience members- wow! I'm hoping folks will post more video from the panel, as it was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done.
Radio drama rocks!
(The other pros were Caitlin Glass and Kyle Hebert, but they aren't heard in this clip) _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Wow! that was super... I just went to an anime convention this past week-end -- wished they'd had something like that at the one here in England.
thanks for sharing. love your cute, squeeky voice! I remember seeing a video interview with you a while back. You have the cutest, sweet little voice. _________________ Intuit and do it!

Aww- thank you Stef!! Poor Bob had to hear me gush and gush about the panel over lunch- so I'm glad there was at least a tiny clip of it posted. When I was on Radio Disney, we did lots of radio drama- so it was very nostalgic for me, and a total blast!
I'm still not sure why the squeaky Betty Boop voice came out of me...maybe when I saw 1935 on the script, something clicked. Still, what fun- I wanna do it again!! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Kara,
Hardly. More like "Blessed Bob" because I got to hang out with you for 3 hours. That was fun. I hope we got to do that again some time. _________________ Be well,

Awesome Kara!
It looks like Kyle Hebert strikes again. These skits are always so funny, but this one was the best I've seen thus far. Nothing like do it live. |
