I keep getting the feeling that people are amazed because this woman has a great voice and stage presence yet does not look like what people expect a talented person to look like.
To me what's remarkable is that she has kept her talent under wraps for so long. I'm looking forward to her redefining hotness. Talent is one of the things that makes people "hot", The opposite has ruled for too long. |

WTF— in America, they set up the worst possible contender as the subject of much hype so everyone can all writhe in fits of schadenfreude— and in Britain, they set up the best, most unlikely contender so everyone can relish the delight.
Simon's expressions just killed me. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I American Idol ever focused on the success of average Americans instead of picking out the obvious buffoons and making fun of them, I might watch. _________________ Jeff

I got a call last Friday from one of the producers of "America's Got Talent" checking on my availability for some upcoming callback dates and locations.
She said they're still making their final selections for callbacks, but she wanted me to know that I'm among those being considered.
So, fingers crossed!
If I do make it onto the show, I hope to inspire in the same way that Susan Boyle did. _________________ Publisher: Voice Actors in the News

I watched this clip about 7 times, every time getting choked up. Her stage presence in front of the mocking crowd was incredible. A true inspiration. _________________ Pam Tierney

So there is more on this Lady. Apparently she recorded a song for a charity event some ten years ago. Listen to "Cry Me A River" and see if you think this woman has talent.

She is an "overnight success" which took 40 years to recognize.
I believe in the dream. Do you?

Thanks for that Frank. Susan continues to amaze. I'd like to find out whether she has ever taken any singing lessons. I believe she was born with perfect pitch, and this voice, of course. |

Susan Boyle's final performance
Same song as her debut, but there's definitely a difference stage presence compared to that initial performance. The judges talk about the pressure she's been under, which I'm not aware of, but my gut says that some of that pressure is the reason for the change.
I admire the final comments of all three judges, but particularly those of Simon. Not gonna spoil it, though. It's definitely worth a watch.
Update:Susan took second place. _________________ Justin S. Barrett

I enjoyed Simon's look as Susan did the hair toss/head flick to take it up a notch. A wry smile from Simon as he say she has grown in her stage presence and perseverance was worth all the slings and arrows by those who wished to depose the Queen.
Susan is a winner, no matter how the chips stacked up. She dared to dream.

She'll make a pile of cash very quickly and then slip quietly into the background. Sounds like a good plan to me. |
