Hi, there, all. For you theatrical and commercial actor on-camera types, how do you go about listing your agents for various parts of the country on your hard copy résumé. I've searched and searched. I've found only one example, showing the second agent listed on the bottom, right.
Input?
Thanks! _________________ Patricia Shanks

Only one agent per resume. Very few hard copies are distributed, or necessary and basically only locally. When I had different agents in SD OC & LA they each had their own resume. Granted, some of that was for on-camera work. All agents/contacts are on my personal website on one page under representation by region/area. I suppose I should add links to the agent's site from my resume page as well. Another to do item, hmmmmmm _________________ Bobbin Beam

If you are sending out resumes you are marketing yourself and as such should not include details of agents. A catch all phrase like "contact details of representation available on request". |

Thanks to you both. I'm still collecting opinions. No two seem to match.
I actually do distribute a lot of hard copy headshots and résumés. Even if the information has been emailed to the casting people, I'm still expected to walk in with the goods. And I do need to include the agent contact information. Besides, I would MUCH rather have an agent handle the negotiations ... still the worst part of this crazy acting/voice acting thing.
Because there could conceivably be some overlap in the geographic areas my agents handle, I'm thinking I should somehow include both. But, I can still be swayed. I also like that the casting people can see that I have two agents.
Bottom line is that I will default to what the agents want me to do. But I'd still like to know what other actors do about this. _________________ Patricia Shanks

I only have one agent for acting work and should I discover anything I feel may be of interest or a useful contact I pass the details to the agent and leave it to them. |

If you're asking about listing two agents with the same duties (i.e. film work) in the same city I wouldn't. It can confuse people and irritate both agents when they find out. But L.A.'s a bit different in that you can have an on-camera agent, a voice agent, a theatrical agent, etc. etc. each handling a separate part of your career, and in that case I can see listing them all with their responsibilities listed with their info.
Overarching guideline: Agents don't like the appearance of disloyalty, so if you can avoid it, avoid it.
