Does anyone in Chicago want to help me with sound isolation in exchange for $, dinner, and eternal gratitude?
Basically, a client gave me some good ideas to further sound proof my recording room (aka bedroom), which involve buying things like masonite and compressed fiberglass. My acoustical engineering skills could fit on the head of a pin, so I'm willing to pay for advice and help buying what I need!
PM or respond if you'd be interested! _________________ Adam

Adam, I'm in Chicago and wish I could help you. I think we've met on auditions.
Adam, I know a fair amount about gear and a ton about VO (used to be a busy coach and demo producer), but acoustics are a mysterious art/science to me. (I have a sound booth, and I've gotten it to work reasonably well.).
You may find lots of helpful tips on the Gearslutz forum. Frank F here on vo-bb seems to know a lot about acoustics. Good luck! _________________ Best regards,

Adam, are you trying to soundproof entirely or just control the sound of the room? Soundproofing is an entirely different animal and without spending thousands probably isn't a task that is very easy.
Treating the room acoustically, knocking out some extraneous noise and quieting things down ont he other hand is something I've been working on here...

Happy to help if I can... I don't get to Chicago often though... |
