I'm going to arrive in Chicago on Thursday (mid-day) and will be there through Monday morning. Friday is taken up with obligations and Saturday is Independence Day, so I'm wondering if it might be possible to gather a few of us on Sunday?

Pam Tierney has offered her place as one possible location though there is the slight downside that the Cubs are in town this coming weekend which means traffic and parking is going to be a bit at a premium there in Wrigleyville. On the other hand, as we learned in April she has a really lovely place with room for quite a few folks to gather.

I will be staying near Elgin, but will have wheels so can travel to pretty much anywhere in or near the city; so what would be most helpful is if you are interested in getting together, leave a quick note (or email or private message me) and we'll figure out a location from there.

By the way, on this trip, I will have my son Eric with me.

Justin,

Thank you. I would love to get a chance to visit with you again. I know Tom Test has a commitment all ready that afternoon so probably won't be able to join us. If it turns out to be a small group, that's fun too; but if there are any others who can join us chime in.

Look forward to it. I've got a project in the works that I'd like to chat with you about as well. Nothing major, but could be fun with your new associates...

Bob, let me know the details when you've got them. Perhaps we can get some of the Indy folk to come and hang out...

Bob thanks for posting this! I'm up for hosting again and would welcome everyone to the house as it was so much fun the last time. On the other hand, we can meet somewhere that is more neutral. I'll go with the general consensus.

Pam, you were such a wonderful host last time. And I know how to get to your place now Wink

I'm open for anything but I liked the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of the last meet-up.

I'm willing to bring the burgers/brats or whatever as well.

I like the idea of meeting at Pam's house again, too. Besides, if it ends up being just a small group, we could move our meeting to the friendly confines just a couple of blocks away.

Let me know what the plans are. I might only be available until Noon, unfortunately. Hope I don't miss this. Either way, let me know what you decide. You know how to get a hold of me... and I think my phone is in my sig.

Well, we did indeed meet up at Pam's house in Chicago. We being, in this case, Justin Kaiser, me and my son Eric. Pam was there too, naturally. One rose and 3 thorns make for a decent photo.

This was taken with the automatic timer of my camera, which has come in handy more than once for this sort of thing. Pam has a shot of Eric, her and me at Wrigley Field during the game. Sadly, Justin had to leave before the game started so that was just the 3 of us; but while he was there we had a wonderful meal that Pam prepared and much delightful conversation.

In the next 2 days we have, hopefully, a short stop in Indianapolis and an over-night in Dayton, OH. And then home!

No TC guys, he was in Iowa City visiting another VOBBer Mo Holland and her family. I love how this board brings us together!

Eric, Bob and I got to see a wonderful game that the Cubs actually won, Justin was bummed as he is a Brewers fan so he left before the game so he wouldn't be disappointed they lost. He just knew it was going to be that kind of game!

Great time was had by all, lots of talk about marketing, mouth noises, acoustics, mic technique and of course I got more pointers on PoToos. That's why I host these things-I get paid back in tips and pointers.
