Hi all this is Diane from Di's Creative Edge. I write today to tell you that Di's Creative Edge has updated some of the way clients can request info on talent, to help make it quicker and easier to get your info to them and hopefully match you with some projects.
The other is kinda big for us! I am personally the team coordinator/mentor for a local high school FIRST robotics team. We work with high school students to teach them life-skills through a robot building competition. We have partnered with a local charter school to help build FIRST Robotics to a whole new set of students.
FIRST is a program that was created to involve high school students in an engineering oriented competition. It was designed to encourage students to learn & utilize math, science, technology & life skills. In return the students will be more apt to enter the field of science & technology when choosing their careers or be better prepared for college, the workforce and life. The program provides the students with skills that will be useful in the future, help enable them to try for the more than 9 million dollars in scholarships available only to FIRST teams, go to college and hopefully enroll in engineering courses and become America’s future engineers and leaders.
Well, what I am wondering is...... would anyone be willing to donate their time/voices to do to our e-learning that we will be adding online?
We are trying to be a pioneer in the more than 1600+ teams to show them how to use some new technologies to teach their students/mentors and others. The projects will not be that large. They will be small workshops to teach safety training concepts and other useful skills.
If we should get a flood of responses (which I am hoping for) to this idea, we will use more than one talent in the projects and or randomly choose the voice actors to keep it fair.
You would be helping our team to help students, the community and helping to create change in the future. We would gladly ad you to our list of sponsors and you will get credits in the projects. This will help us to send out quality e-learning to others as well as gain a ton on exposure to your talent. There are over 1600+ teams in the USA and now in other countries. Thousands of students/mentors and top businesses will have exposure to your voice through or projects.

I'm thinking this should be in the "work" section (despite being unpaid). Any objections to me moving it there? _________________ Jeff

Diane- I"m in! I'm in Manchester, NH - the birth place of FIRST - (for those who aren't familiar with the program- it stands for For The Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). I"ve been a big fan of Dean Kamen for years. He is the founder of FIRST and the inventor of the segway...among other things. _________________ Moe Egan

Fairness is everything as I personally myself speaking alone in one accord would be wholly mortified to learn that one Voice actor had be unrandomly chosen above me to work for nothing.
Apart from the above I should place on record that as a British Voice Overist I will of course be making myself available for this project. this is an opportunity to make a difference and, let's be honest, we so seldom do. |

That was merely a particularly unusual Thursday afternoon the like of which we are unlikely to see again at least until the next time, but not before. |

Diane,
The FIRST Robotics program is really cool. I tried to get my daughter interested in this at one point but her focus shifted. Heck, if I were a kid I would be all over this program. Being a Software/Systems Engineer with Hewlett-Packard I know how important it is for kids to get an early start in the Tech business and the FIRST Program is a great way to do just that. I'd be honored to help on this.
My message should be in your inbox. |

Thank you to all of the wonderfully kind individuals who have contacted me so far, I am REALLY excited about the possibilities. You all have wondeful voices and are very good at what you do!
I am very touched that each of you have come forward to help. Some of you know FIRST Robotics and know how awesome this program is. It is a life-changing program for these students.
Looks like I am gonna need to get really busy! Thanks for your kind offers of support. Keep em' coming and I will be getting in contact with each of you, to see how we can partner to do some awesome things!
P.S. - Seeing some of the sites you have sent. Most of you have sampeles on your site. I really like the way they play with the play bar. The last one I looked at was yours Jeffrey Kafer. Can any of you tell me where/how your doing this? I haven't seen that clean of an option for the site and would love to incorporate that into some of my work if possible- thanks!
Thanks again, you all are great!!
Sincerely,
Diane |
