Hi family,

If anyone has a few minutes to listen to this character I've been working on, I'd appreciate your comments.

Do you believe the character and dialogue?
Do I need to speed up the delivery a weensie?

I thank you in advance for listening.

Chrissy,

To my ears the character really takes flight right about the time we get to the lawn ornament and gnome exchange. From there to the end, it sings.

Bob said it. That latter portion has a sincerity to the delivery that I'm not quite getting from the earlier part.

You might think about committing the basic ideas of the script to memory, and then ad-libbing on top of that foundation. It might help you get into the character more deeply and deliver more of that sincerity. Do that a few times, then go back to the script.

Chrissy,

I agree with the above but DANG GIRL, if the read didn't want to make me run to Cambridge and hug you tight. Seriously, what a great fit for you. Keep rocking it!

PS: I promise my dog will always tell the diff between gnome and alf as I work closely with the gnome.

Thanks Mandy, Bob and Justin for your comments.

Your comments did remind me that in acting classes we were told that the actor wants to bring the audience to tears. If the actor is the one crying then the audience feels uncomfortable and you'll lose them.
