My 3400-mile odyssey to and from Illinois in 6 days drew to a close in the most wonderful way with a visit to CC Petersen's new digs in the middle of Colorado.

She and her husband, Mark graciously welcomed us as their first visitors to their glorious perch on a mountainside, and we felt privileged to share a few moments with them.
HERE is a link to a short video showing the steep gravel road leading right up to their log-cabin home.
Thanks CC and Mark for showing us around. Gorgeous place...we're coming back to see the 8ft of snow in January!

Dang...first coastal jealousy, and now mountain jealousy. *sigh*
Thanks for sharing the pic and video, Dave. I imagine the last two words in the video are probably echoed by everyone here. _________________ Justin S. Barrett

Love the house- love the picture! When we moved to FL, we had several family members and friends mention they would likely visit us a lot more now than they did before...I can't even imagine the stream of company that would flood in living in that piece of heaven CC! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Wow... I'm impressed with the vid, Dave. You guys were most entirely welcome and we're glad you made the trip. I think you just missed the major rainstorm that hit about 30 minutes after you left.
Liz, yes, we're stocking up already. And, buying a generator.
We're lovin' it so far, but we've been warned about the winters -- and grew up in Boulder, so have a feel for the snow -- but we've been told it can really go to town here when it snows. The neighbors all have meetings once in a while to exchange house keys and phone numbers, etc. in case of emergency. I think there are only about five or six families up here full time. We made the seventh ones.
By the way, that gravel road is all dug up right now -- they're laying in natural gas lines today.

Wow indeed. Are you going to keep a journal about the first year on Walton's, I mean CC's mountain? I see a book with lots of photos complete with audio. |

I was also jut thinking that you might want to get a St. Bernard to join you on your ski adventures. |

What I need is an extra set of lungs -- the first VOs I did from here a month ago were quite ... ah... breathless. Now I'm sort of getting used to the thin air... but it sure does take a while! _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |
