Eeek...our peak colors are usually rockin' in November down here in the Peach State (um...most peaches are from South Carolina now, but whatever). Even as a born n' bred New Englander I've been very impressed with the foliage in North Georgia. Not as good as NE on a good year, but lately it's been on par. Another place that's surprising good for fall colors: Ontario north of Toronto (Barrie, etc.)

The foliage in Miami and Reno is kinda blah.

It is said we have no seasonal changes in So. Cal. I disagree. Our seasons are just more subtle in the way they change. However, I miss the brilliant colors and the feel of Fall from my Midwestern small-town life. Which is why I bought a home on Pretty Lake in Wisconsin, and return 2-3 times/year, one of them always in the Fall.
