Got my new Studio Projects CS5 today, and it works quite well.
Here's two samples recorded simultaneously with the capsules side by side both with Mogami Cable and into the same Yamaha mixing board and I'm speaking dead on with the mics overhanging with the capsules at forehead level. There's lots of room noise and I'm intentionally not trying to control mouth noise or breathiness to show those characteristics of the microphone as well. There is a 60 Hz HPF run through AA3, but no other processing. The CS5 is set to cardioid and all the other filters/pads are flat.

Yep, as usual the TLM is thin and crisp, qualities I don't like for my own work, and the CS5 was very pleasant overall.

Lance - the SP sounds uncolored compared to the 103.
The winner...the SP by a unanimous decision! (mine anyway) It's a keeper.
Nice "reads" by the way. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Thanks bill...I've got to get a clip up of the CS5 through the Speck 5.0 tomorrow. That chain is smokin'. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
