Funny how communication can sometimes be so poor in an industry all about communication. Shocked

BTW, I hear that even the most acidic comments can be forgiven by simply including the phrase "Bless their hearts" (or "his" or "her" as appropriate) somewhere in the relevant rant. Wink

I sent three emails today asking if the "files" were OK. Yep, I think we can all relate...

Also, Justin— if you begin an insult with "With all due respect. . . ." you can get away with murder.

Yesterday I did a last-minute pro-bono job that included the VO and mixing four pieces of music (not provided to me) and he needed it same day or, at the latest, first thing this morning. I sent it out last night. [crickets]

I suppose if it had not been received by now, I would have heard something.

I usually take the "no news is good news" approach to these situations.

This place is like magic!

Yesterday, in another thread, I was speculating about whether a demo I did would be ripped off or paid for. And this morning I got an e-mail from the "voice seeker" saying they wanted to use it so send them a bill.

Just moments ago I posted the little story about my pro-bono spot. Literally less than two minutes after posting that, I received the following e-mail from the client: "Great, really is. I appreciate it."

This happens to me constantly, DB. Even when I say "please." You're not alone!

I tried that with a client who didn't pay, it went something like....

With all due respect you are a lying deceiving arse who doesn't deserve the courtesy I would accord a louse. I am not a bank, pay up.....now!!!!

....and they did. I'm glad I didn't have to stoop to the level of the school playground though.
