I’ve followed the Stedman Pop Filter thread with interest, and have decided to record my own demonstration to see what really happens when using a pop filter.
I’ve recorded 2 different scripts – warm & fuzzy and high energy – through my Rode NTK with 1960s NOS Amperex tube, simply using the preamps on my Soundcraft Compact4 mixer. I’ve used only normalization to try to even out the levels, no compression or EQ at all.
Here is a link to download a 4.4 MB WAV file for the warm & fuzzy script: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/4skaSpzcYQRzBW
...And the 3.2 MB high energy script: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/4sbC284USLIXPT
Disclaimer: I do not try to pretend to be an expert at making a scientifically sound comparison, but I’ve tried my best. I’ll wait for your feedback before I chime in myself. _________________ Best regards,

To me, the mesh filter seems to affect the sound the most, seems to muffle it the most, though not in a huge way.
The Stedman sounded better than I expected.
