Obviously a Latin name, but in Hungarian it would be like this:

Aquincum

Awww thnaks, Bob.
Hey, my dad was Hungarian, what can I say? Embarrassed

I have actually wanted to get back to speaking Hungarian.
I used to be part of the Hungarian scouts in NYC and everything!!...and my accent is pretty good, and I have a basic knowledge of it...enough to get around after a few days....but there are so few people who speak it - less than about 15 million worldwide I think....that the major language softwares like Pimsleur & Rosetta Stone don't even offer it.

I just got a mailing from the main Hungarian Association in NYC that apparently offers adult classes....might look into that in the future.

Liz, It depends on which country I'm in or who I'm talking with. In Hungary or the closest equivalent, a Hungarian restaurant, I'd say gooyahsh. If I'm talking with anyone else it's goulash. Wink

Wow - I got flusterrated this week when I got stuck with "Hoenlohe".

However, after a lengthy search of the internet, I did manage to find some success: I succeeded in discovering that there is absolutely no hope of me ever finding a website that offers an audio pronouncer so that I could hear the correct pronunciation of the word.

So, I made a command decision: I decided to pronounce it as "Frickleschnitz".

Don't forget, if it's one of the few languages that Liz doesn't speak, you can always call a country's embassy in Washington, D.C. and they're usually willing to help.
