I am going to to purchase a decent studio desk for my equipment.
I was choosing between the Quiklok Z600 and the Middle Atlantic MDV-DSK. Any experiences or opinions of either one would be appreciated.
I was basically looking for a sturdy desk that would hold maybe 6u of rack space. It needs to be about 5 feet or slighly shorter to fit the space.
Thanks,
Zach |

We had a long thread on this a couple of years ago. You might find some useful info here:

I have one of the Middle Atlantic units (the 12RU rack with the bridge) and can say that they are very solid. Nice, heavy desk with a good finish that looks nice in a room. Little pricey, but worth every penny. _________________ David Swinehart

I saw that old thread and thought it was interesting. I went by Guitar Center to check out the Studio RTA stuff. They discontinued the desk that was mentioned in the earlier post.
I think I am going to end up going with the MDV-DSK desk. It looks sturdy and is about the right size. The Omnirax desk is nice but is more than twice the price. |

I went ahead and ordered the desk from Middle Atlantic. It is a nice heavy desk and it is going to work well in the space that I have cleared for it. Any bigger and it would not have worked well.
The one bad thing is that the box was ripped on the end when I received the desk. No damage but all the hardware for the top rack and bridge were gone.
Denied the use of my new equipment for another day. Don't you hate that feeling when you can't play with your shiny new toy? Me too. |
