Hello!

Got Source Connect, it's working- no issues there (as of this typing).

My current set up is mic to mic-pre to M-box to computer. The mic-pre also connects to my mixer and ultimately to my Zephyr for ISDN. My headphones are plugged into my mixer.

With Source Connect, I can't hear the person on the other end through my headphones when plugged into the mixer. I tried plugging them directly into the Mbox, and could hear the other person, but not myself. I know several of you have SC and likely have similar set ups to mine. Can anyone let me know where I should plug my headphones into so that I can hear the person on the other end, and myself? And, can I plug my headphones into one place where they work for ISDN, SC, and when I'm recording on my own?

Thank you in advance! Smile

Kara,

Try turning the M-Box's "mix" knob (I think that's what it's called) into the middle instead of all the way around and see if you can hear both yourself and your client.

Hey Kara,

Let us know if you're still having troubles. If you want to connect for a quick test-run, feel free to pm me.

Cheers,

Here's my recommended patching arrangement (your equipment will vary, of course):

Headphones plugged into mixer, this handles all the routing with minimal effort.
This applies to anyone using mixers from Mackie, Behringer, and some Alesis models that have an "Alt 3/4 bus". That is the key to making the "mix minus" for the ISDN and Source Connect mixes. In this arrangement you can even record the ISDN return if you like by un-muting the ISDN channel, say in the case of recording an interview. If you want to separate your side and the remote side, just pan left and right and assign to tracks accordingly.

Bob, Brian, and George- thank you guys!

George- that patch list is fantastic!

I haven't had time to mess with this over the weekend just yet- but hope to. Bob, turning the mix knob last week is what let me hear the guy at SC- but I still couldn't hear myself. I'll keep playing with it and see what I can find out.

Brian- I'll PM you about doing a test- that would be great!
