Hi!
So in thinking about getting my website/marketing stuff together, I'm trying to decide which name I should go by.
In music, I'm Whitney B. (maiden name, Barricklow). For my music site (which itself needs a makeover) I already own whitneyb.com, and I could potentially re-do it to have a music area and a vo area. They would kinda go together, as I do jingle singing/writing too.
Or, I could go by my married last name, and brand myself as Whitney Szabo, and have a completely different site dedicated to vo only.
Opinions are greatly appreciated!!
So which would you pick?
1. Whitney B. for both music and vo, same site, 2 sections
2. Whitney B. for both, but a different vo only site
3. Whitney Szabo, new site, vo only |

Thanks! Wow, my husband will like hearing that you guys so heartily endorsed his name. Though I've yet to come up with any images I can associate with it, which Dan advised me to do... plus 3 things I've heard about my voiceover work and 3 things about me...
Anything else I should add to my brain as I roll this around? And thank you again, so much. |

i'm not sure you need the image-association thing - it's a unique name - how many auditions are they gonna get from a "szabo" today?
not to say image-association is a BAD thing - i just don't know if i'd delay launch because of the lack of it. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

The name doesn't really matter that much buyt it's a bigg assumption that people know how to say Szabo which is why I may be inclined not to use it unless you play on the "how to say".
One site - One message and in this particular case we are talking about Whitney the VO. |

I really like Whitney B. Goode...but that's just me.
While I know how nice it feels to perform and gain some notoriety under your own (maiden) name, there are several famous performers in recent history named Szabo. Not a bad moniker to use.

What is this "3 Things" thing?
One of my web clients just asked about combining 3 images/concepts for his website.
I don't care for it as a motivator, myself, and I wouldn't think of "3 things" unless they naturally evolved out of the voice work and overall concept of the website. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

My first thought is one Philip mentioned, "how do you say it?" but, that said, I like it. So three for me. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

Thanks you guys. I really appreciate the feedback.
BTW, Szabo is said Say-bo. I'm sure there's a way I could play on that. |
