I just bought a bottle of Alkalol but it doesn't tell me how much to use. I have both a neti pot and a squeeze bottle. I seem to remember there are folks on this board who use this product. Could you tell me how much Alkalol to warm water to use when just starting out???

Also have you ever gargled with it?

Thanks Uncertain Uncertain Uncertain

Isn't alkalol something you see online in pictures of drunken cats with badly spelled captions?

I have it and use it, occasionally to gargle softly with. It helps clear the "mucinous" gunk out of my throat . I've heard it may also be used in a neti.

By the way, "Mucinuous" is my new word of the day, along with "mucoid"---both are words I had yesterday in an e-learning job for hospital personnel. I looked them up just be be sure how to properly pronounce. So I felt compelled to use them. woo.

I'm with Deebs on that one. Although kudos definitely go to Bobbin for using both mucinous and mucoid in a sentence!

I dilute it 1:1 with warm water, and use about 1 oz. of the mixture to gargle and swish around my mouth before a session. Seems to wash away the gunky feeling. I'm also trying the mixture in a spray bottle during the session on the principle of "won't hurt, might help."

I've used it a few times as a gargle since I saw Joe Cip talk about it in one of his videos. Helpful for clearing out the crud.
