VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

mucho-mucho wind + one of two pine tree left after the inland hurricane in may =

the top 60' of the 80" pine snaps off

blows through the air and buries itself a six inches in the frozen ground

lodged in the maple tree just next to the sun room

climbed up there this morning & got a rope around it - gonna try to pull it over later ...

Oh my!!! If this weather keeps up for you guys, you're gonna be like Florida with insurance. We just got dropped (once again... with no claims) b/c we live in the wind pool. At the moment, only one company, besides the state insurance co, will insure us, and they are requiring "window protection." <sigh>

Be careful pulling that thing down. !!

Caryn, we are having high winds here in the Rockies and to be on the safe side we put up hurricane shutters over our west-facing picture windows. Expensivo? Yes, but our insurance man smiled when he heard we'd done that. Wink

Look at the bright side. Maybe you can salvage part of that tree top and use it as your Christmas tree.
