I've had my eye on the Rupert Neve Portico 5015 Preamp/Compressor as much as I love my Speck 5.0...now I know why the 5015 hasn't been marketed that much - they had a bigger item in the works:

Hi, I'm interested if you ever bought the portico. I wouldn't have thought it would be good for VO.

A studio I bought a desk from a few weeks back was selling one and I considered buying, but going with more mic's instead.

The Portico series is great for voice work. Like anything else though...it depends on the voice, etc......

Check one out when you can. There is another one in the works too...they should be announcing its price sometime first quarter. it's called the Fedelice. It's 4 pres with built in digital connections....and 4 different silk options...(meaning it has 4 seperate sounds that are usable) Check it out!

That sounds good depending on what digital connections they are using. My DBX386 has tubes in and digital out, which would be perfect if it wasn't for the part inbetween the in and and out.
