As most of you know who read facebook, I got a call from a Producer of the Huckabee show on Fox news. Apparently they came across a press release I wrote in June talking about how I got laid off from Microsoft and am now pursuing VO full-time.

So they're flying me in to New York Friday night to be a guest on the show on Saturday. Crazy, huh?

That is the best thing I've ever heard of coming from a blog post.

Congrats to you!

Sounds great Jeff! If we miss the show, try to get a few clips to share.

Just goes to show that you never know what might happen from even the smallest nugget of marketing.

How does the show work? Is it one guest and an interviewer or is it a studio with a number of invited guests all with a similar story to tell (in your case, career change)? If you said "Parkinson" I could visualise what it would be like for you but in this case, no idea so need a bit of picture painting.

Either way, good luck and enjoy it. The trick is to be a part of the show as opposed to using the show as a PR vehicle for you. If you add value to what the show does ...........Here's the magic .............Y'all git asked back!

In this case, there are two of us being interviewed with similar stories. The other guy is a former Fortune 500 guy who got laid off from his 6 figure job. Then bought a dog poop cleanup franchise called "doodie calls". Apparently it's quite recession proof.

I'm sure both of you will encourage a lot of people to "Go on, give it a try, you never know". Enjoy your time in New York City.

Actually, my message will be "Go ahead and explore, but don't quit your day job."
