I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed on this subject, but I'll ask anyway. Wouldn't expenses of travel/transportation qualify for some kind of write-off if it is a job related/education experience? _________________ "Bailey"

Yeah, Jim— it's a write-off. But you still have to earn it before you can spend it, if you know what I mean. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

And that my dear is the reason I am in Hawaii this week...AND I got a booking for the day I get back (luckily the client agreed to push the session a bit to accomodate the snorkel trip - where I am studing whale vocalization for a yet-to-be determined upcoming role).
Am grabbing a few minutes at the lodge computer before checking out and heading down along the crater road to see the sea. Check my Facebook page for a few snaps - no laptop means no downloads from the other camera until I get back. _________________ Playing for a living...

British media have caught the VOICE2010 bug. I have a photographer arriving in 20 mins to take my photo and a journalist calling a little later to do the story on "Fat elderly dullard going to LA to teach granny how to suck eggs". |

Since I'm also on that panel, I'm hoping to have made that .87 & change by then. The discussion is about working VO's- ya know, the other schlubs who live near and far who are working in the trenches, not the uber celebs heard on network , film roles, etc. So my .87/year in earnings in contrast to theirs is about right. Hooray for the working class. _________________ Bobbin Beam

Why spend the money?
Hire a giant television to sit in your place, so the fine folks can watch you color, in color, over the internet.

Slow news day, apparently, eh?
Quote: | A VOICEOVER actor who works from his Portgordon home studio in Moray is to fly to Los Angeles to advise showbiz hopefuls on how to break into the competitive field. | "Showbiz hopefuls"? Wow, doesn't that kind of misrepresent VOICE attendees -- most of which are already working professionals? _________________ Publisher: Voice Actors in the News
