Presenting the Voice-over 'Auto-Seminar.'
It's absolutely free, you don't have to travel anywhere, and the benefit is realized immediately.
Seminar Date: At your earliest convenience
Scheduled Participants: You
Here's how it works:
Get a sheet of paper. In one column, list all the live seminars, tele-seminars and surveys you've attended or participated in over the past two years. Do not include events that were solely for networking. In the next column, record the total outlay of funds (the cost of the seminar itself, plus any travel and lodging expenses, if applicable). In another column, note any genuine, positive 'nugget' you came away with from each event.
Now, on another page, list in one column all the marketing plans you've actually executed during the same period. In the next column, list any clients you've gained as a result of those efforts. In a third column, make note of all the times you practiced your acting and reading skills, read tongue-twisters and other vocal exercises, and carefully listened to learn from TV commercials and documentaries, and even the demos of other VO talent.
Now, come up with a 'total' for each category on both sheets, and compare. When we apply the theory that 'activity is not the same as productivity,' we can see where we are as individuals.
There. You now have the best research you can own, you didn't have to fly anywhere or pay anyone to get it, and no one knows your results except you.
Adjust future plans accordingly.
Surveys? We don't need no stinkin' surveys! _________________ Mike
