Love the comments, particularly the riffs on the Godfather. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

Like my dad always says: Never give away what you're already selling.
I like this part:
Quote: | Savor the negotiation, make some cash. What's the worst thing that can happen? You don't get the job, and instead continue to enjoy your time. |
People who whine about the price are looking to get it for free (or close to free). They will nickle-dime you to death and you'll be sorry you took the job. |

I turned down three jobs this week so far. One from a station who "hired" me years ago to do regular work for a client who spent far too much time directing me every month for a pittance. The station guy wanted me for a spot for the same rate. I told him my rate and he said "Well we won't be doing business then."
The other two were direct leads from V123. Nice people, but just didn't have any budgets. _________________ Playing for a living...

That's the biggest reason why I quit recording garage bands. They'd hear about me through a friend (of a friend of a friend.....) and for some reason immediately assume I'd record their 15 song extravaganza for a case of cheap beer.
Um.......NO. |
