Oh no! Pity Philip, who'll very soon be likely to suffer a shortage of the beloved Scottish delicacy, haggis.
The U.S. has just made it legal again to import haggis, which had been banned for a while due to health concerns.
I can envision a huge jump in haggis consumption here in the States:
Diner waitress: "What can I get for youse?" ( pronounced yuz; every diner waitress in NJ actually is required to speak this way)
Customer: "My usual, hon, two eggs over easy with a side of extra-crispy haggis."
Ah Philip, I fear you'll have to scrounge and hoard to stay in haggis, now.
Gotta go, got some haggis on the stove, wouldn't want it to burn. |

Just checked the freezer and am pleased to report I have an emergency stash of Faggots. Not quite the same but the upside is that no one in the USA is gonna eat them in the same way that no woman in the UK is going to take one shopping with her to help choose a new outfit. |

Out here in the colonies, I've learned to live without faggots. It was only a once or twice a year thing anyway. Haggis was always enjoyed when I used to visit buddies at Kinloss (just up the road from Philip) but again, I've learned to live without.
But kippers... my, oh, my... I miss me some kippers _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Then there's Rugby. Like American football with the Kevlar and the rest periods every 90 seconds.
At Oxford after a game of Rugby we took what was left of our bodies for several pints of Old Speckled Hen and some Steak and Kidney Pie.

Mr Souer highly recommends the Bonnie Prince Charlie served as a main course at The Cullen Bay Hotel. |

Coming from PA Dutch Country (well, till I was 11), I love scrapple!! Haven't had it in forever though!
And, I don't know what's in it exactly. Don't think I need to know that. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I do indeed. That was a meal to remember. The only thing better than the food were the two charming individuals with whom I shared the table. _________________ Be well,

Rob,
Haggis, black pudding and I don't remember name of the third treat. All was quite delightful. _________________ Be well,

A steak with melted cheese covering a slice of Haggis, black pudding and white pudding plus a sauce/gravy with a spot of single malt whisky in it. One the top two feet made out of puff pastry hence it's other name "the trampled trio".
