Anybody ever used a Frontier Tranzport?
After pricing out the option of running a monitor, keyboard and mouse into the booth I'm kind of thinking about one of these instead as I think it would be a little cheaper and less hassle. But I'm giving up the ability to read copy off a screen and I'm not sure I want to do that.
So as I'm trying to decide I'd love to hear from anybody that uses one or has used one in the past - good or bad. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I think Doug Turkel uses one, Brian. You might want to ask him. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I like the fact it's wireless and you can move it around no problemo. Looks like it would be great with instruments.
I've not used one as I have a dual control setup in my recording room and my editing room. |

Caryn, thanks! I'll give Doug a ring.
Bill, I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know who that was and had to look it up. Is it the bald head or the weary posture that gets me? _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

It's the baldness, the knowing glinty look, and the rakishness of a man willing to take charge.
You'd have to watch the show L O S T to understand. You should Netflix the entire series this summer. It's very engrossing.
Good photos of you. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Well the unit gets mixed reviews from some of the musician types I talked to. For now I might punt. There are some a s that allow you to control your computer from your iphone. I might try that for a while and see how it works until I make a final decision. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I installed a few several years ago for VO actors, and I don't know anyone who uses it anymore. Not sure why. Maybe they forget to change the batteries one day, it stops working, and they just deal with it and get used to not using it. One client was using it with Pro Tools 6.9 and had issues with it interfering on occasion. These days, with LCD monitors being so damn cheap, it's hard to justify the thing when you can't read a script off the screen. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Never had to solder a DB15 or DVI connector onto a cable, no.
If your concern is how to pull a large connector through a wall, Calrad makes VGA cables with a break in them using a small connector so you can more easily snake them. I am a dealer for Calrad (wholesale only), but you might be able to find someone else who makes them.
If you are using DVI, you can use a cable with HDMI on one end for a smaller connector, then just use an HDMI-DVI adapter. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
