I have boxes and boxes of photographs but I have turned my house upside down trying to find the prints from the one roll of film that shows me walking across that iconic street in 1970 (and sitting on the wall that's on the back cover of the Abbey Road album). _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

On Gearlutz.com, they're discussing a Group Buy
Seriously... very sad indeed. _________________ Regards,

Abbey Road is not going out of business...they are just being sold. Some one from the UK near the studio was saying they are booked out way far in advance and that EMI is in financial trouble. That is why they are selling.
That's the rumor anyway. |

Saw this photo that Jon Favreau posted on Twitter from his scoring sessions at Abbey Road for Iron Man II. Now that's a BIG studio:

Good that they're able to keep it booked with scoring sessions and the like. There's a room not far from me "Power Station New England" that is a larger room fit for the same duties. Unfortunately it's way too far from New York. Not sure how much use it's getting lately. Not much I'm guessing. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

It's really quite incredible. It's going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out. |

A laptop coputer with protools...
years ago my friend worked at Atlantic Records on west 60th street in Manhattan, prior to the Warner buyout, and it was such an elegant place. Not all that large, but you could see and feel how the venue could help in the creative process.
I would love to have seen their studio in Mussel shoals, Alabama.
Just the idea of recording at Abbey Road could influence the recording... though agreed, Monk, the room doesn't make the talent. _________________ http://MichaelSchoen.com |
