It has certainly been a roller coaster ride on my quest for the big sacks of money to show up on my door step. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to focus on working the VO as much as I would like due to the day job, the family , preparing for a company relo etc. Frankly there has been numerous times I seriously considered throwing in the towel, selling the gear and moving on...then out of the blue from a contact made months ago I get a call to do the voice for a tribute to Jerry Jones for his induction into the Arkansas School of Business Hall of Fame. Obviously I was thrilled to do something for someone at this level. Then I get an email today that says:
Quote:
By the way, the event was a big success. Jerry Jones and the others were very happy with the videos and your work!

and to add icing on the cake, yesterday I was informed that I have been added to the roster of a Chicago based Ad company...it's been a great week....Life is good!!

Cheers,
Jeff

Yes I do love it! Commuting every week since July though, has been a real pain for sure. I haven't been very successful tuning up my travel gear. Big difference from a sound proof/treated room running the 416 through my Avalon compared to the noisy hotel room with the 416 running through a Tube-Pre. Certainly the interpretation and delivery are the priority but I am sure the substandard sound hasn't helped my auditions any. Hopefully things will settle down in a few short months. Just received a contract on our house and have an offer that we are working through on the other end. Then get the new studio set up and fuel the flame!!
