Second piece of trivia, the Elgin in Scotland is pronounced with a hard "g" while the Elgin in Illinois is pronounced with a soft "g". Third piece of trivia, I lived for 4 years in Elgin, Illinois.

At one point I lived in Illinois, and know how to pronounce Elgin thanks to that experience.
