You could just start hanging out in watering holes in Cupertino and wait for some yutz to leave a prototype 4g on the bar. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

The interesting aspect to the whole iPhone 4g debacle is that it may be sooner rather than later that the 3Gs is available for a knock-down price (as the 3G is now). The original poster states he is happy with AT&T, so the rumored end to the exclusive agreement is a moot point... but I'm certainly looking forward to it! _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

I'll throw in my $.02 as well - get the iPhone.
The others that would do about the same with contact, scheduling, and integration with my various email accounts either cost *more* than the iPhone or the price level was on par, but build quality and reviews weren't. I like it so much I may pass this one on to my daughter when/if the 4 G comes out this summer. I may have been converted to a fan-boy status. |

I've had decent results with my Blackberry Bold (first edition), however I will say that at the time I got it per it being better for my needs than what the iPhone offered at the time. Namely, it had better email support, had comparable load speeds, also I felt the haptic interface of the iPhone was pretty clunky. Generally, I felt the Bold was more of the "get stuff done" device which mapped more to business needs whereas the iPhone was more of a "consume stuff, occupy and amuse thyself" device.
A lot has changed in a couple years, though. Now at this point mobile has become much more about a s than about mobile sites or search. Apple laid huge groundwork there, also since then the processing power and efficiency, email and other power user supports, also the interface, of the iPhone has much improved. Add to that the way my need for email has diminished, and how my need for using other things online while on the go has increased, at this point a lot of times I feel pretty impaired with the Bold.
At this point I'm holding onto it - holding out - just for the iPhone 4G. _________________ Scott Reyns, voice talent serving major metros (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York) and beyond |
