We're Voiceoverists and therefore quite dull people. If you are on Twitter it's worth comparing Twits from US VOs and UK VOs.

What in blazes are you doing on Twitter, anyway?

"@BudlieghSaltertonBrenda" for the win, by the way.

I was a twit before I started an account at Twitter. YMMV.

Theres is no credible evidence and no measurable results to demonstrate it has real financial, professional benefits. But because some VO business expert earning less than 20% of what I earn on Christmas Day said it great for connecting with new clients, I joined. To anyone with 7 brain cells or more that makes no sense at all but to a Voiceoverist it will prompt a flood of new twits and a hearty "Woot awesome dood!"

I'm only on it to get NHL updates from the sports writers.

You still live with your mother? That explains your trip to LA

LOL. No serioulsy, 80% of the tweets I get are by Jeff Marek of Hockey Night in Canada. He has his pulse on everything that happens and I just scan it at the end of the day. Faff free!

That, and a high school friend who does good travel writing...oh, and Smith Harrison, a great local VO talent who's a very witty bloke.

NO POP CULTURE at all. Smile

As long as I'm home by 7 it's fine. That's when the big hand is on the twelve and the little hand is on the number just to the left of the one at the bottom.

How do you know which side is the bottom?
Nothing wrong with living with your mom. Just surprised she's letting you go.

It may not be the place to go to find BMW voiceoverists, but it has produced measurable results for me in the past month.

I will be tagged, tailed (find the tail and you've found the bottom) and will be forced to wear a T-shirt with the following written on both front and back ...

"He's NOT the Messiah he's a VERY naughty boy"

I admit that I have added and quickly stopped "following" talents that I didn't know personally who proved themselves to be himbos and bimbos by their childish constant tweets. Some of the best folks in the land are VOs...but man a lot of 'em are far from it.

It's tricky...two VOs I really liked personally revealed sides of themselves online that made it so I can have nothing to do with them. It's sad, sometimes sharing isn't caring.

It takes a wise person to recognise who isn't in their gang in the playground and a brave person to do something about it.

In the heady world of Cyberspace I try to behave the same as I would behave were we to meet in person, to do otherwise would be dishonest. By the way @mytwitFriends Yor awesum doods!

Being a newcomer to the VO industry I can't really speak to how well it helps you connect with clients, but outside of VO it's definitely proven itself to be a great tool to make social connections with people I'd never have chatted with otherwise. Great combination of the asynch. nature of email and the public nature of IRC.

YMMV though, definitely agreed.
