I'm thinking I need to jump-in. But, don't have a clue where to begin. Best options, compatibility, etc.
I currently have a Telos ONE hybrid phone-patch. Works great. But, the market seems to want ISDN and/or something compatible.
Is there an "engineer" you can recommend or, is that person you?
Thanks!

Joe,
You'll find extensive answers to your ISDN questions at digifon.com. Dave Immer there is the go-to guy for ISDN. You do need to know that Source Connect at ISDN are not compatible technologies. They can be bridged to one another through a bridging service (something else digifon.com does); but won't connect directly to one another. I have both in my studio. I make more money from ISDN and phone patch; but have had a few paying Source Connect session every year for the last 4 in a row. It's starting to gain a little steam. _________________ Be well,

Source Connect is an interesting piece of technology but is unlikely to be of any real commercial value to you. Offering someone with ISDN the opportunity to bridge to you via Source Connect is likely to discourage them from using you at all as it's an added bit of clutter. Producers just want to get on with things.
ISDN is about do it now.
ISDN bridged via Source Connect is about do it at some point.
Access to ISDN probably just menas you live near a studio with ISDN.
You may not get offered a "do it now" job but ISDN will open doors if you're good at your job. |

Check and see if any of the studios you work with are on this website.
If so, you might want to get it. If not, consider it an investment in the future.
If feel pretty confident in it's future-proofedness. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
